Alltel has announced that its new low-end LG Banter slider phone will be available on March 15. The Banter features a full-QWERTY sliding keyboard, QVGA display, and a 1.3 megapixel camera. The stylish slider has changeable faceplates when users want a new look, Bluetooth, and a microSD card slot for additional storage. The Banter is nearly identical to the LG Rumor2 recently announced by Sprint, with the same internal features but a slightly different design. There is no word on pricing for the LG Banter, but the LG Rumor2 will cost $49.99 with a two-year service agreement and after a $50 mail-in rebate, and we expect prices to be similar.
